SKETCHFRAMER
COURSE

"URBAN HOUSE"

Model Preparation

1. Import the DWG file and organize the graphic information

  • Import the DWG file into the SketchUp model.

  • Once imported, separate the floor plans within the model to work in an organized way.

  • Explode the geometry (right-click > Explode).

  • Select the elements of each floor and group them (G) individually.

TIP: This will allow you to handle each level independently and avoid interference between lines or elements.

2. Create SketchFramer objects from each floor plan

  • Right-click on each group and select:
    SketchFramer > Create custom element.

  • Then rename the elements from their properties to clearly identify which level they correspond to:
    a. Wall Plan GF
    b. Wall Plan UF
    c. Parapet Plan
