Although you can connect a header over the support, you can also place it by side, making the connection work on the shear effect. This is the case. The connection should be completed with a plate to add the number of screws needed to work properly. Besides that, you can edit by hand, select the number of jacks to reduce, and create a truss brace instead of all the jacks together. You can also continue the lower track of the truss to reach the ending of the jack maul, but you will be creating point loads with the result, that won't be taken by the truss header, as it is not a solid piece.
